Hello everyone I just wanted to give you an update on Hollys prognosis. Dr. Friedman contacted us around 2:45 PM this afternoon, and told us that Holly is doing well in the surgery. He said that they got that tracheostomy done, and everything with that went fine. I asked him if he knew how much longer the surgery would take, but he said there was still quite a bit of tumor to remove, and that he didn’t know exactly how much longer it would take. Other than that, that’s pretty much all I know. I will definitely keep everyone up-to-date as more information arrives. I will let everyone know as I hear further information. I will let everyone know. More information. Once I get it.

Hello everyone. I just thought I would let everyone know, the Holly went into surgery around 7:30 this morning. But don’t know anything as of yet, as it’s still too early to tell. Soon as I find out any information, I’ll be sure and update the website for those of you could look at it. Thanks for those of you that are keeping her in your prayers. It’s greatly appreciated. I will keep everybody in my thoughts. Thank you so much.

Hey everyone it’s always husband, Edward running in her blog to update you on everything since we’ve been to LA. Holly has had two appointments yesterday, and both of them seemed to go fairly quickly. We found out some interesting information, they did a test to see if Hollys vocal chords were working properly, because they wanted to make sure before they went in and did the surgery, to make sure that they were going to damage anything in the vocal chord area. Unfortunately, after they did the test, they found out that neither one of her vocal chords were working properly. The way I understood it, was the Hollywood is having to use the top part of her voice box, just speak properly. The vocal chords weren’t actually moving to create sound. they are also afraid, since the vocal chords and the swelling are having difficulties, the Hollywood be at risk for symptoms such as pneumonia, or aspirating. The doctors thing, that she may have to be put on a feeding tube, or have a tracheostomy. I know it seems like things are worse than we thought they were, I thought it would just be simply take out the tumor and recover, but it looks like things are just a little more serious than we thought. I know that Holly is nervous, who wouldn’t be common but I know that if anybody can make it through this, she can. Well I just wanted to update everyone, and let Shawn know how things were going, but I’ll get back with you soon and let everybody know more after the surgery. Everyone take care.

Another year has passed. 2009 had it’s shares of ups and downs.
Throughout the year I lost a lot due to these tumors associated with NF2. I’m not sure if any of my abilities such as my balance and coordination will ever come back. But, I hope so.
I did meet my goal for 2009 of losing 50 pounds. My diet isn’t for everyone, but it works for me when nothing else has. Or maybe it’s all a matter of self-control. You have to be able to resist the food you have come to love and that everyone around you is still eating and offering you.
This year I have two goals. One is to read t he entire Bible is braille. This will probably take a year in itself. Also, the other goal is to stop biting my finger nails. This may sound easy. Just don’t do it. But, to me, it’s not that simple. I am going to try really hard to force myself to stop though.
It’s a new day. It’s a new year. I pray that 2010 is better to me than 2009 was, and that each and every one of you have a fantastic year as well.
