Hey Holly, I like your revamped website - it looks cheerful and great in every way! I like the details you now have as well, as in your previous 'old' website. Keep this up.

It is great that you have written to all those people - Oprah, the President, etc. As for Oprah, or even your local TV shows, or getting reported in your local papers - I know you can be stubborn in getting on those shows. After all, your tagline is 'Never giving up hope'!

If it is Oprah you are aiming for - watch those who are on her shows - why does she want them to be on her show, and not others? Similarly your local TV station - watch those shows you want to be on - why do they want those people on their shows?

Think hard, be stubborn, persevere - good luck, Holly. I know you can do it - I want to watch you on Oprah!!!

Hi Richard, thank you for your comment and sorry it has taken me so long to respond.

Face book, I can't get on there because neither facebook or myspace is accessible with jaws, my screan reader. So that idea is out for me. I know that Yvonne worked very hard to get where she is and that is all the more reason why I respect her.

I did try to get on Oprah. I wrote them a letter and several friends of mine wrote them a letter to with my story. None of us got responses.

As I said, I've tried to aim high by contacting tv stations, even the president and there is nothing you can do if they don't or won't respond to you.

Yes 10k is a lot, guess I was just disappointed it wasn't more in the time it took. But I do know that there are those that care about me and those that send all sorts of prayersandgood thoughts and I appreciate that deeply. don't think I am ungrateful because I am.

I just wish I had the type of financial support that Yvonne is able to get.

Hi,
10k is still a large amount, whether raised in a month, a year or two. I would say you have done well, and you do have many many well wishers who sincerely wish you well - I am sure there a big number who make up the donors who gave their money towards the 10k ...even if there is only one donor, it means there is one in this world who loves you for who you are and care about your needs, and I am sure the number of well wishers were and are definitely many more than just one.

I think it was difficult for Yvonne to raise funds, not easy, especially in the initial stages, not that it gets any easier at any stage. Funds raising is always difficult in any part of the world - people are all the same everywhere. She had to get herself in readiness, and then to persuade others to contribute. I would think the most difficult part is to get her own self ready. It is not a smooth road at all. She is brave, very brave.

If you do not mind, let me suggest the following: to garner support from a wider pool of people, you need visibility. This blog is one way. I thought your previous blog was very good - for a first time visitor or returning, it gave a lot of details, a bit like Yvonne's blog. If you can work on or get someone to help you to work on your blog to have the details as Yvonne's blog has, you just may get more responses. Getting on Facebook is a great idea too, since most of your friends are there already.

Aim high - how about having the objective to appear on Oprah Winfrey's show?

hmmm...how to do that?

If I may suggest, watch the show and see who appear on it, and why Oprah wants those people to appear on her show.

Aim high, Holly, aim high.

Best of luck.

Hi Yvonne. I see you're point. I see jealous and Envy as the same, or did. I was thinking about using envy in the post. Jealousy is wishing you had something, which I do your support. Envy iswanting to be like you, which would go along with getting the support. So yes you are correct.

Hi Fiana. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I know it takes a while, but the whole thing that is frustrating is Yvonne is able to get through to people. I don't know if it is the different locations or what, but I just wish I was able to do that. I hope you are correct that people will come forward and lend a helping hand to me soon.

Hi Holly, Gotta know about you thru Yvonne. I write a post about you before. Yvonne takes quite a long time to be able to shout out loud what she needs and asking help from friends and stranger. Be patience people will see your needs and lend you a helping hand's.

Hi Holly. It's okay to feel 'jealous' sometimes, but I would rather call it 'envy'. Envy makes you want to improve.

I just wrote a post that might answer your dilemma. Oh, just realized I am one year older. Was born in 1986. Aw man.
