Hopefully this works. Today I scanned the picture of the tumor in and I think I have it resized right. Maybe if it’s not big enough, you can make it bigger on your screen? I’m really not sure about the visual capabilities. But here it is.
As you can see the tumor is quite large. It was much larger than the MRI was telling them. I’m just thankful that thing is out of my head now and I have more space in there. But this is the surgery I had done. last week.
What do you all think?

Dear Holly:
Scientifically it is a very good picture of NF2 tumors. They look highly angiogenic (surrounded by a plenty of blood vessels).
I have a few questions.
1. How large are these tumors (length or width in cm or mm)?
2. Are they meningiomas or Schwannomas?
3. Are your Drs. M and F planning to establish any cell lines from these tumors?
We have a transplantable human Schwannoma cell line (HEI-193), but
there is no transplantable human meningioma cell line as yet in this world.
“Transplantable” means being able to grow in nude (immuno-deficient) mice.
So we cannot test the therapeutic effect of Bio 30 or other anti-PAK1 drugs on meningioma in mice, as we have done on Schwannoma.
Many thanks! Hiroshi

Hi Dr. Maruta. I do not know about the cell line but I will asking Dr. McElveen on the fifth when I see him again. This was a menigioma. Usually NF2 with a tumor on the 8th cranial nerve is schwannoma, but I am the lucky one that has mengioma. I do not know if this means it is more serious or not.
On my MRI this tumor shoed to be 1.5CM but the doctors said it was larger when they got in there. I’m not sure of the size they came up with, I’ll ask him that too.
I have a feeling this might have been left over from the huge menigioma on my brainstem several years ago like I mentioned to you before. That surgery was done in 2000 at Arkansas Childrens Hospital in Little Rock, AR. The neurosurgeon operating then was Dr. Mark Lensky. I can’t remember how to spell his last name. The resident was a Japanese doctor. I have no idea how to spell his name, but sounded out in English it sounded like “Dr. Are not a vitch”. Hope this answers all of your questions.

Dr. Maruta,
I just read your comment again. Are you saying that there are no cell lines for meningioma at all? Will any menigioma work for this? What needs to be done, have it donated? I’m sure I have plenty of meningiomas so could get the cell line thing going if the doctors didn’t do it with this one.
