Hi everyone. I thought I’d give a quick update. I want to Thank Yvonne for everything. She’s amazing. Helped me get this blog going since I can’t do pictures since I am blind, and helping me spread the word. I appreciate it so much!
So far I have received $800USD in donations. I appreciate it all and I am trying to send thank you emails to all of you. Around here we are trying to think of ideas for a fundraiser. I’m trying to get all of the local churches involved as well. So hopefully it won’t take me too long and I’ll have the surgery I need.
If you have any good ideas for fundraising or raffles, please let me know. I am racking my brain here but this is a lot to handle with all the stress of the tumors, doctors, insurance, new baby, and everything else.
Today was a down day. I was just discouraged very bad, but people reminded me that I just have to keep fighting for my husband and my son. I hope you all enjoy the picture.
That’s all for now, when I think of something else I’ll post in here and will definitely keep you up to date.
Holly

Wow! You already have $800. I know it seems like a drop in the bucket, but that’s fast!
Hmmm. *think think think*. Are there any organizations to do with hearing loss that could team up with you and you could use their contacts to raise funds? I could be totally talking out my butt, but I think what you need most is a network of people. I’ll think some more. I’ll try and think of someone else who needed money of that magnitude raised, and see what they did. Brain-pickage!
It’s understandable to have a down day. Don’t beat yourself up. Like a wise person said to me once as I walked through the rain looking like death on a particularly discouraging day long ago, every day is a brand new day.
Rootin’ for ya.

Hey. Me again. I asked a friend who has a large reader base who might know a thing or two about fund-raising to ask her buddies for ideas. Let’s hope they come through for you in one way or another.
What about some kind of benefit concert full of local musicians? Get everybody to pay at the door and the money goes to the fund? I dunno. I’m sure musicians who are trying to get their name out there wouldn’t turn you down, and if you get enough folk playing some songs, it should interest some people. I don’t know. I’m just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
Hang in there. Hopefully my friend will come back with contacs/ideas/contacts with money/all of the above.

Hi again. I’m the buzzing mosquito, filling your comment boards.
Because I’m obsessed, crazy, or both, I’ve been searching around for others who are also fund-raising for an ABI. Here’s a blog. http://www.littlewings34.blogspot.com/
Maybe you guys could talk? Share ideas? Who knows? Or maybe you’re like “You think I haven’t done a google search already, goof?”
Just me over here, shootin’ at the wall, seeing if anything makes a splat. Be back to splat more.

Buzz buzz. Here I am again. You’re probably about ready to strangle me because I’m so annoying. Here’s another site that might be able to help you network. But you’ve probably heard of it. http://www.hearingexchange.com/articles/henews-081603a.htm
I’ll stop for a while.

Hi Karen. Thanks for all of the comments. I thought of a benifit with local musicians. Its pretty small around here so not many local musicians. My husband is one amazing guitar player and he said he’ll play as much as he has to if people will pay to help us. So I’m checking in to that. Also I have been contacting the organizations for the hearing impaired to see if they can point me in the right directions.

Dear Holly,
Perhaps you would consider writing Oprah at the above link. I was going to write her on your behalf, but I do not have your personal information. (I do not know her!) I just discovered the link to your blog on another site (Sweet Salty’s). I hope you will consider doing this. Not only might you be able to finance all or most of your medical treatment, but you can bear witness to how woeful our healthcare system is.
I will check your blog! And post a link on mine. http://www.travelsweeps.blogspot.com

If you have trouble getting the link, please email me and I will send it to you. The Oprah Show is currently looking for people with medical problems.
Or go to http://www.oprah.com and click on Be on the Show and scroll down a few for the link on medical stories.

Hello Holly! My name is Soo Keea. I also go on the zone by smiley. I looked at your site once before and felt so bad I couldn’t help or come up with anything. I have been giving this some thought. I have joined an awesome group called My Power Mall. This is where others can join in my cause of changing the world one person at a time. It works like this you join and shop like you would normally shop in a mall. Everytime you shop you make money and so does everyone else. I decided that those who join I will give half of my proceeds towards your operation. I know how important it is to regain your hearing back in one ear. I have been their. Check it out and tell me what you think. Believe me it doesn’t cost anything to join is. If you want you can tell others about it and see if they want to help me in this cause. Hi there Soo Keea. It’s not just the regaining hearing in one ear. It’s getting some hearing in that ear hopefully before I lose the left ear that way I won’t be totally blind and deaf. Since your blidn as well I’m sure you can imagine how scary that would be. We totally rely on our hearing. So I am tryign to get the implant before it’s too late and the other ear leaves me in darkness nadsilence. Thanks for all your support!
